The Healer's Dance
An original poem about the relationship between client and coach

The Healer’s Dance
This Dance reframes Nurse and Coach
This Dance invites patient/client/fellow human to the dance floor of Healing
Gliding from the stumbling “you must,” to the grace of “what if”
The Nurse is open to listen – The Coach is invited to follow
Patient/client/fellow Human – Takes the Lead of this dance
Based in Theory; Praxis of Heart
Healing set by intention – Guided by Awareness
Relationships on level ground
Work of art; a symbiotic dance
Word, goals, actions, being
Change transpires in the stillness
Client/patient/fellow human presents the rhythm
Personal cues intertwined with gentle nurse coach direction
This dance may trail guided steps, often taking on astounding, uncharted trajectory
Curtsy/bow; magical healing occurs for all
The underlying rhythm silently builds mutual empowerment
Giving incentive for patient/client/fellow human to step forward; to lead
Nurse Coach has knowing to step back
A newness-learning, unlearning, relearning
In perfect rhythm, they move together in this new mode of dance
Swaying to the music created by the band, of perhaps many members
Majestically orchestrated by patient/client/fellow human
Humbly, with heart, nurse taking a seat
Restful, with assurance –
That genuine presence is the Healer whom guides
Giving way to a healing “dance” for both, Patient/client/fellow human
And Nurse Coach
